Saturday 17th February 9am until noon The Green Wye

February Markets. After a quiet January, it was great to host a fantastic market at the start of February. We had a full array of stall holders, many back for the first time after a well deserved post-Christmas break and despite the cooler weather we had some great support with high visitor numbers. Crumbs Cakes, our newest stall holder, was again in attendance, so please show your support for her and hopefully she will become one of our regulars. Dockers sold our of their wonderful bread and the Cheesemakers of Canterbury had one of their most successful markets. This market, the game of VJ Game is still at it’s winter best and Botterell’s fish is often at it’s finest at this time of year. Perry Court and Ripple Farm Organics continue to sell a great array of winter fruit and vegetables.  It was also great to have the Kent Wildlife Trust at the market, raising awareness of the wonderful work they do in Kent. We also have a new stall holder, please see side article. So please come out and support your local market, shop local, as Wye truly is a local market, with many of our stall holders from within the village and all within the lower 30 mile radius allowed by Farmer’s Markets.

Welcome to Let’s Eat In. We have a another new stall holder this week, and I know that many people will be delighted to see a stall selling ready to eat and cook at home food. Tara and Gary Gilbert are based in Whitstable, and have proved very popular at Whitstable Farmer’s Market, they were recommended by Della Newman, our previous market manager and owner of Spinning Earth. They produce a range of food to eat at the market and also to be consumed at home. The Frittata’s, sold at room temperature, have proved very popular at Whitstable, produced with free range eggs and being a low GI food. They also sell soups to re-heat at home, chutney’s and hope to be able to make ready to eat salads in the warmer months. Please have a look at their website, and come along and show your support for our newest stall holder. https://www.whitstabletakeaway.co.uk/
